Seriously. I cleaned this chair off yesterday people. |
This chair is symbolic of my house lately. It's messy. Things aren't where they belong. Do I care? Yes. It drives me freaking crazy. But I just don't have the time or energy to keep this sh*t clean. I got a couple new clients recently (yay) and have been swamped with work (boo). My hubby has been busy with work too and by the time he gets home he just wants to veg out and apparently there is no cleaning in vegging out. The free time we do have on the weekends we want to actually spend with our kids to do fun things and you know, drive them around to the 1,000 practices/birthday parties/games they have in their already over-scheduled lives.
We've held out on getting a cleaning lady because we thought it an unnecessary expense, but OMG I need a cleaning lady. Or person. I need a cleaning person. Whatever. I need a magical cleaning fairy to come clean and restore order in my house. I know there is always pressure to pick up and clean up the house for the cleaning crew, but I think we're at a point where we really need it.
Is it crazy I've held out so long? I know once we get someone to help, there is no turning back. I will never be able to clean as good as a professional, right? Maybe once we have a totally clean house and I can donate this chair to someone who will actually use it as a chair instead of a laundry pile!
Work-at-home peeps, is it weird to have someone at your house cleaning when you're working? Do you just close the office door? How do you stay out of each others way?
